A Talk in the Park

Short story, 1525 words. Marcia meets former colleague Andrew in a park, where he reveals his marriage has ended and asks to stay with her. Unmoved by his melodramatic pleas, she refuses (and responds flippantly to his suicidal remarks). A year later, encountering Andrew with a younger woman, Marcia reflects on companionship, independence, and her own solitude. Published in BigCityLit, Summer 2026.
